Rates and Insurance for Mobile Physical Therapy in Boston, Somerville, and Cambridge, MA

With Flowstate Physiotherapy, all treatment plans are specifically tailored to your current needs and are provided one-on-one by a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We operate as a fee-for-service clinic to allow for the highest level of care. We are not in-network with any insurance providers.

We are able to provide you with the necessary information to submit a self-claim to your insurance upon request. We also accept HSA/FSA cards.

Initial evaluations and follow-up visits are 60 minutes. All visits are provided at the convenience of your own home, and all equipment is brought to you.

Please call to discuss specific pricing, and read below to learn how being a fee-for-service clinic allows you to get better care and how you might end up paying more by choosing to use your insurance elsewhere.

How can this actually save me money if I am not using my insurance?

Many health insurance plans now have high deductibles and co-pays for physical therapy services. This means that many of our patients have to pay a certain amount out of pocket before their health insurance covers their treatments. Then they still have up to a $50 copayment once their insurance pays.

With a traditional outpatient physical therapy model where you are expected to be seen 2-3 times a week for 6-12 weeks, these fees can add up quickly. Many traditional outpatient clinics have a higher frequency of visits because they cannot provide the quality one-on-one, hour-long treatment sessions we provide through Flowstate Physiotherapy.

At a traditional physical therapy clinic, 2-3 patients are commonly being treated at the same time, and you may not always be treated by your physical therapists - many clinics use assistants, aides, or techs due to the high volume of patients that have to be seen. This allows for a lower quality of care and often a longer recovery time, meaning more trips to the clinic and more co-pays.

With Flowstate Physiotherapy, most of our patients only require one visit per week because we are able to dedicate an entire hour to treating you. We further reduce time away from work and family by coming to your home. And you are always treated by your Doctor of Physical Therapy. All things considered, the cost of an out-of-pocket visit with Flowstate Physiotherapy is well worth it.

How will I know if I can get reimbursed through a self-claim?

To determine your out-of-network benefits, you will need to speak to your insurance company to see what your specific insurance plan covers, as all plans are different. If you have further questions on how to do this or what to ask, please call us, and we will be happy to guide you through this process.
